Miniature pigs get their origins from the wild boar, sus scrofa. They were hunted, eventually domesticated and used by early farmers starting around 8,000B.C.

Only reaching a max of about 200lbs at 5 years of age, some staying in the 150lb range miniature pigs are easier to handle than a 600lb commercial hog. These miniatures provide a decent amount of lard which is also beneficial in certain projects.

Pigs can be highly intelligent animals that adore affection scooting them into the pet category, but pigs, even mini ones, are much more work than your average dog. Their size and weight potential still rivals that of the largest dogs and if not fixed before their maturity they can become aggressive, we do not neuter or cut tusks. 

Our pigs were adoptees and so their exact breed is unknown, they are dubbed 'Mixed PBP'
