The Rex breed of rabbit has been developed in mini and large sizes. The large, according to the written standard, weighs between 8 and 10lbs. They are considered a 'commercial type' rabbit with good meat producing qualities that have the added bonus of thick velvety coats making fine quality pelts. 

They are calm, friendly, easy to handle rabbits that can make great companions in addition to their working qualities.
